Startup Lemong’s “CommentMong”
Many people make a point of checking reviews before visiting a restaurant or ordering delivery. Startup Lemong has developed CommentMong, an AI-powered system that automatically manages restaurant reviews.
The AI analyzes an owner’s existing tone and style of replies, then posts comments that fit the content and context of each customer review as if the owner had written them personally. Owners can choose from recommended replies or edit parts of the text before posting. For owners using multiple delivery platforms, CommentMong enables them to manage scattered reviews at a glance. For franchise headquarters, the service also provides features that help centrally manage reviews across hundreds of individual franchise locations.
CEO Hee-yong Lee (43) said, “When owners respond diligently to reviews, reorder rates increase and search rankings on delivery platforms improve,” adding, “It is rewarding to ease the ‘creative burden’ of restaurant owners and save them time.” As of the end of last year, the number of restaurants using the service exceeded 4,000, and Lemong received the Excellence Award at the Asan Nanum Foundation’s Chung Ju-yung Startup Competition, validating its technology and idea.
Lemong was co-founded by CEOs Hee-yong Lee and Bo-hyung Kim (36). Both previously worked at Samsung SDS and Samsung Electronics, respectively, and later met at an AI startup they joined after leaving Samsung. CEO Kim said, “We started Lemong after seeing how low AI adoption was in the food-service industry,” adding that she hopes the system helps restaurant owners dream bigger.
